Local social enterprise hub, The Circle is launching The Circle Night School Pilot Programme. The programme will offer a wide range of courses that will run during evenings and weekends at their building at Staffa Place in Dundee.
The courses will be taught by local tutors and hobby enthusiasts from Dundee and surrounding areas. To promote this new initiative, The Circle is inviting people from the local community to an open event on the 6th of May where they can learn more about the night school, meet the tutors and have the chance to sign up to courses. The Circle Night School classes start the week beginning the 20th of May.
You can register to attend the open event for free at: https://thecirclenightschool-openevent.eventbrite.co.uk
The Circle’s Academy Manager, Kara Swankie says;
“The Circle Night School is an exciting new platform for local people to share their valuable knowledge and skills, and to benefit from our established networks. We have attracted tutors with a wide range of skillsets to build a unique programme of classes. This is initially starting as a three day a week pilot, though we’re actively recruiting more talented people to run courses in the future.”
The courses provided will range from Arts and Craft workshops, English classes, Mathematics for life skills and school learning to Yoga and Burlesque. Suzie Repova who runs Catesbi at The Circle building will be running an Autism and Behaviour course while Dundee based artist Nicola Wiltshire will be running an Introduction to Painting.
Professional Therapist, Dr Julie Wardrop and Wils Struthers who runs Wild Lorg will be delivering a 7-week series of classes on Everyday Mindfulness plus a one-off session The Dundee Meditators Midsummer Gathering. All courses will be promoted through The Circle and by the tutors themselves.
