We’re conducting a survey on burnout in the third sector

In 2025 we received funding to pilot a project focused on addressing rising levels of compassion fatigue and burnout among professionals in the third sector. Through The ECHO (Empowering Communities, Helping Others) Project we ran a series of workshops on topics such as boundary setting and invisible labour, culminating in a focus group. This focus group offered a supportive opportunity to share experiences, reflect honestly, and help shape future work focused on wellbeing, boundaries, and sustainability across the sector.

As part of The ECHO Project we are working with students from University of Dundee to conduct a survey to better understand the topic of burnout in the third sector. This survey is focused primarily on individuals in Tayside with scope for future research to be done covering a broader geographical reach. The survey is open until midnight on Monday 16th February.

This project is proudly funded by NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation and is being delivered in partnership with KTG Impact Associates.
