We are delighted to welcome two newly appointed non-executive Directors to The Circle’s Board. Campbell Archibald and Caroline Lees are joining the Board to help oversee the organisation’s ambitious plans for growth based on its new three-year strategy. These recruitments have come at an exciting period of development for us including our recent announcement of plans to expand to a site in Glasgow.
Campbell Archibald is Sales Director and President, North America of Alba Power, a business which he and a colleague founded and subsequently sold to Sulzer, a Swiss company. A proud Dundonian, he is getting involved in the work of The Circle as a way of giving back to the community, drawing on his experience as a successful entrepreneur.
Caroline Lees is a communications professional with more than 30 years of experience including media, communications and journalism skills training, senior managerial positions on national newspapers, reporting, commissioning and editing. She has reported from many locations across the globe as well as providing training and consultancy in media and business communication.
The Circle is also saying goodbye to Board member, Pete Baillie, after 4 years with the organisation. Pete is Divisional R&D Portfolio Manager at WL Gore and deals with complex high-frequency electronics in the world of aerospace. During his tenure on the Board, he worked with The Circle team on the development of its operational strategy and supported individual members of the team, providing insights from his years of experience in leadership roles.

Each of them has demonstrated an outstanding track record in their chosen field and their skills and experience will complement those of our existing directors as we push forward with our ambitious plans for The Circle, in Dundee and now also in Glasgow.
Pete’s contribution to The Circle during its early years has been immense, and we will miss his wise counsel. I and the rest of the Board thank him for all his work over the last four years and wish him well.”
It’s been such a pleasure to work with Kirsty and the amazing team at The Circle for the last four years. It’s sometimes tough to see just how far an organisation has evolved, but the recently announced expansion into Glasgow is a sign that the More Than Profit approach can bring hugely positive social impact right across Scotland.
