🌻VOLUNTEER’S STORY – THE CIRCLE DUNDEE 🌻
Bringing you short stories of our volunteers, one of our most valuable assets at The Circle. What would we do without the generosity of our volunteers?
Back in 2017, Yulia was looking for work experience and a chance to practice speaking English after moving to the UK from Russia. Â
Through Dundee International Women’s Centre and because she had a degree in Accountancy, she was matched with a finance volunteer role that found her at The Circle. In her role, she helped create expense spreadsheets and kept track of The Circle’s daily visitor count at our first premises at Staffa Place.Â
Yulia said what she most when enjoyed volunteering at The Circle was feeling part of something and having stability. She advises future volunteers to stay open-minded and be ready to try new things.Â
While she loves numbers, Yulia discovered a passion for photography while volunteering with another local community group. She now studies photography full-time and would like to create and manage art therapy workshops in the future.Â
Yulia captured all photos for The Circle’s new website as a hired photographer. Check out her beautiful portfolio over here. You can follow her work over on Instagram @ursula_uk
