The Circle CEO Nominated for IOD Regional Director of the Year Awards

Kirsty Thomson, founder and CEO at The Circle Dundee, is among 4 high profile company directors from across Tayside who have been nominated for the Institute of Director’s Regional Director of the Year Award.

Kirsty is a finalist for the Tayside region alongside Jackie Brierton MBE of Growbiz Scotland, Ian Collins from RBS and Philip Long from The V&A Dundee

“I am delighted to be recognised for my work over the last 2 years setting up the Circle and thank you to the IOD Scotland Regional Committees team for putting me forward for this award. It’s fantastic to be recognised alongside such a high calibre of individuals”.

Kirsty was initially put forward for the award by Steve Ross, Managing Director at Shackleton Technologies and supporter of The Circle.

Steve said, “It has been our pleasure to support Kirsty in her work at The Circle. We were impressed with her vision of a community hub to do social good in the city and I’m delighted to be able to nominate her for the IOD Regional Director Award.”

The IOD Awards Scotland recognise the very best across the region’s businesses, celebrating directors who have demonstrated excellent leadership qualities and are vanguards in their field. The award is open for both members and nonmembers. The aim is to spread the word among IOD members, the wider business community and the general public of the amazing work business leaders can do within their community to encourage prosperity and inspire others. Selected candidates have been assessed and the winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony & Dinner on Thursday the 23rd of May 2019 at the Double Tree by Hilton Glasgow Central. Business leaders, entrepreneurs, local and national government and press will be in attendance.

The Regional Director of The Year Award recognises directors from diverse businesses across the following 8 regions of Scotland: Aberdeen & Grampian, Central Scotland, Edinburgh & Lothians, Fife, Glasgow & West of Scotland, Highlands & Islands, South of Scotland and Tayside.
