Today, we are celebrating 8 years since The Circle first launched! We want to take a moment to talk about some of our highlights from the past year:
- We now have 27 tenants across our Dundee and Glasgow hubs
- 553 hires of devices from The Circle Mobility, with 194 people signed up as members
- We received funding from Northwood Charitable Trust, NHS Tayside Charitable Foundation, Dundee Common Good Fund, Dundee City Council Transport Department, the eBike Grant Fund, Walter Craig Charitable Trust and Mathew Trust to develop The Circle Mobility
- We supported 25 consultancy clients, including 12 through the Just Enterprise programme
- We have worked with 32 volunteers, with 16 using their new skills and experience to find employment
- We raised £5,770 in a crowdfunding campaign to carry out much-needed repairs at our Dudhope Castle hub
- McLaughlin & Harvey and their partners repaired our accessible toilet in Dudhope Castle pro bono in response to our crowdfunding appeal
- Over 25,000 visitors across our Dundee and Glasgow hubs
We want to thank our staff, board, volunteers, tenants, clients, funders and supporters for continuing to be an amazing community that truly embodies The Circle’s values. We would also like to thank our founder and previous CEO, Kirsty Thomson, for her work and leadership in getting us to our 8th birthday. We look forward to what the next year brings!
An important update:
Usually, we would launch our latest Social Impact report around our birthday. However, this year we’ve decided to make a change; we will now measure our impact from January to December each year and publish our report at the end of the financial year. We will be announcing a date for our Social Impact Report launch event in the New Year, so keep your eyes peeled for this!
