Businesses, social organisations, and community groups are to be invited to participate in a silent auction to rent an affordable, flexible commercial office space in Easterhouse, Glasgow at a bargain price.
The 599 square foot workspace, at The Circle Glasgow, will be available to rent, to the highest bidder at the silent auction, to be held between Monday 30th October 2023 and Friday 10th November. The room, which can accommodate up to seven people, comes with fast Wi-Fi, on-site parking and furniture included.
The auction, the first of its kind to be held in Glasgow, is a unique opportunity for a business, start up, community group or social organisation to move into a fully serviced workspace, close to public transport, with no deposit and at a very affordable rent.
The Circle will welcome interested parties to view the space by appointment, between Monday 30th October 2023 and Friday 10th November to make their bid on the day.
The Circle’s Glasgow Hub Manager, Tomasz Fecinski-Gawel said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for businesses to join a community of like-minded organisations by securing one of our last offices in The Circle Glasgow. I am extremely excited to welcome guests to view the space and make us an offer.”
When The Circle took over the former Westwood Business Centre in September 2021 – as part of a collaboration between the council’s Space for Growth programme and City Property – the building was nearly empty. 24 months later, the building has become a thriving hub for businesses and community groups in Glasgow’s Easterhouse.
Some of the organisations now working from The Circle in Glasgow include, Action for Children, which works to alleviate childhood poverty; Financially Included, which helps women survivors of economic abuse; Scottish Pantry Network, an organisation helping communities set up local pantries to divert food away from landfills; Also, Social Enterprise, Glasgow Sling Library who are committed to making babywear accessible to all.
Amber Cully, project manager for Financially Included, said: “There is a real community spirit in this centre, as more tenants move in around us.” She adds, “Moving back to working in an office space after covid has been great.”
According to Uswitch, working in an office is more economical than working from home this winter for those without an expensive commute. The Circle Glasgow is well-connected to public transport and offers free car parking on-site.
“Driving into the city with the traffic each day did not appeal. The Circle offered fair value, with easy parking and a good space where I had the choice of desks,” said Paul Bussey, Owner of Digital Art Live.
